What is the most valuable thing?
We couldn't meet for several years after Covid, but last year when we met again, my friend said: Every time we meet again, I see Bavantea growing stronger, I'm very happy. You have become a big boss.
I said: I'm still the same, still the same Hien from 10 years ago, but I've grown up.

To you, what is the most valuable thing after more than 10 years on the journey of pursuing tea? My friend continued to ask.
You already know, but still ask, it's "good brothers". They are my most "valuable assets".
That's right, after more than 10 years on the tea journey, one thing we "dare to brag" about is the brothers who have accompanied us. From the time we didn't know each other, didn't understand each other, to the time we knew, then knew clearly, then understood each other, cherished each other. Even though we went through many "storms"... but still lived peacefully together, that's not easy. Requires both sides to make constant efforts to grow and become better versions of themselves.
If relationships are based solely on economic interests, they cannot last long.
What I often say to foreigners who come to Vietnam to learn about tea is: Come here to meet us, put aside the tea business for a moment, and be friends first. Only when we can drink tea together, eat together, drink wine together, and chat comfortably can we discuss business.

Reality has proven that in any case where we cannot chat comfortably together, all opportunities to do business together will come to a... dead end. And conversely, if we can chat, share, go up the mountain together, drink tea, drink wine... then business will naturally go smoothly.
In that spirit, naturally, we have constantly cultivated to grow together with tea growers, tea makers, customers, partners, students... "grow up" together. We treat each other with sincerity, honesty, respect, harmonize interests, and develop sustainably together.

Of course, those who put immediate benefits first will distance themselves from us. That is obvious. It is not about who is good, who is bad, or who is right, who is wrong. It is just that we are on different paths.
As Trinh Cong Son said: "Living in life, you need to have a heart, even if it is for nothing, even if it is just for the wind to blow away."
Money can buy... (pig) heart, but if you have brothers to mix the dipping sauce, buy herbs... then the food will be... delicious. That's all.
In the picture is such a brother. Since the time when both brothers were young and green. Now one has many wives, a house full of grandchildren. The other is still single. Hehe
